Sweet Passion Bakery
Outer Sunset District, San Francisco (2021)
My very first mural was a 23’x10″ wall on the interior of one of our church’s regularly bao suppliers. Because the wall was so large I tried to keep the design simple to stay within time and budget. Little did I know that straight lines can also become a huge time suck!

Since the bakery and Jenny’s home are both in the Sunset District of San Francisco, I designed a grid pattern of Sunset style houses as a fun way to pay tribute.

Challenges
- The size of the wall!
- Keeping the grid pattern level and plumb
- Reaching the upper parts of the mural from my 6ft ladder. I think some light scaffolding would have been much more comfortable to paint from, not to mention safer!!
- Painting late in the evenings after work (only possible bc hubby was at home with the kids!
